Upcoming works – Garrison Lane / Crescent Road, Felixstowe – 15 February 2021

Posted by Town Hall Staff 03 February 2021

We have received the following message from Suffolk Highways :

Following a review of our traffic signals across the County, it has been determined that due to the age of the equipment, some of these need regular maintenance and require a full upgrade. The traffic signals at the junction with Garrison Lane / Crescent Road, Felixstowe is one of the sites to have been put forward for a full upgrade.

This involves a replacement controller, poles and sockets, new traffic signal heads to Low Voltage LED and improved traffic control system, using new detection loops. The work will also involve the widening of the footpath at the crossing point on Mill Lane to facilitate the nearside pedestrian displays. The works are programmed to take place from 15 February 2021, for approximately, 6 weeks. For the duration of the works, temporary traffic signals will be in place, as well as temporary pedestrian crossings. For the first 4 weeks, part of Mill Lane will be closed to improve the pedestrian crossing facility and relocate a street light. Diversion signs will be in place. As we plan roadworks in advance, we schedule extra days to allow for bad weather or other delays beyond our control. If we need to make major changes to our work dates, we will update the information signs on site.

The latest updates on our works can be found on our website at “Temporary road closures for Suffolk Highways roadworks” and on One.Network website.

There may be times that essential emergency works are required to take place on the highway network without advanced notice – you can follow Suffolk Highways on Twitter for the latest emergency roadwork updates.
