The Mayor of Felixstowe’s year-long programme of charity fundraising continues over the coming weeks, with a varied line-up of events taking place throughout September and October.
Mayor of Felixstowe Cllr Darren Aitchison is supporting three charities during his mayoral year: Brave Futures, Dora Brown and Pitstop.
A programme of fundraising events is taking place throughout the year, with the latest schedule providing plenty of opportunities for the local community to get involved during September and October.
September Events
On Thursday, September 17, the Felsto Quiz Night will take place at Felsto from 7pm, offering teams the opportunity to put their general knowledge to the test while supporting the Mayor’s charities.
There will be a particularly busy day of fundraising on Saturday, September 19, with Bargain Hunt taking place in the town at 12.30pm, followed by the Grosvenor Fun Day at 1pm.
On Sunday, September 27, attention turns to the skies as the Mayor’s Charity Skydive takes place in Beccles at 10.30am.
The month concludes with the Half Moon Quiz on Wednesday, September 30, starting at 7pm.
October Events
The fundraising continues into October with the Bargain Hunt Auction, taking place at Harvest House on Saturday, October 3, from 7pm.
On Saturday, October 17, the Rugby VIP Dinner will be held at the Rugby Club, beginning at 1pm.
The Half Moon Quiz returns on Wednesday, October 28, starting at 7pm, with more events soon to be announced.
Supporting three important local causes:
The events form part of the wider fundraising programme for the Mayor’s three chosen charities.
- Brave Futures provides specialist support to children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse.
- Dora Brown supports families experiencing crisis, including those affected by furniture and hygiene poverty.
- Pitstop, based in Felixstowe, provides practical support to local families and individuals through donations of clothing, baby equipment, toys, household essentials and other items.
With further fundraising activities planned throughout the Mayor’s year, the September and October programme provides the latest opportunities for residents, businesses and community groups to come together in support of these three charities.
Whether taking part in a quiz, enjoying live music, joining a community event or supporting one of the fundraising activities, there are plenty of ways to get involved and help make a difference.
