Felixstowe in Flower celebrates a remarkable 40 years with a vibrant launch event on Saturday, 7 June from 10am-12 noon
PLEASE NOTE: Due to a poor weather forecast, including significant rain, the Launch has been officially moved from Felixstowe Triangle to the covered area to the rear of Sainsbury’s and Great Eastern Square, (facing onto the car park). The date and time of the Launch remain unchanged.
Organised by Felixstowe Town Council, this special milestone event promises a morning of floral festivities, family-friendly fun, and community pride. Since its beginnings in 1985, Felixstowe in Flower has united residents, schools, and local businesses to transform the town with colourful floral displays—beautiful tubs, baskets, and troughs, diligently maintained by the Council’s dedicated Grounds Team.
Join us this Saturday, 7 June, as we celebrate not only 40 years of Felixstowe in Flower, but also four decades of support from the fantastic businesses, community groups, and individuals who sponsor the displays and make Felixstowe in Flower possible.
The Mayor of Felixstowe, Cllr Corrine Franklin, said: “Felixstowe in Flower has been an important part of the town for 40 years, and I’m looking forward to meeting many of you as we celebrate this special anniversary. The Launch promises to be an enjoyable morning, with something on offer for everyone”.
Enjoy live entertainment, tasty local food, and the chance to cast your vote in the Councillors’ Flowerpot Competition. A face painter will be on site, offering fabulous floral designs. You can also find out how to take part in the free Felixstowe in Flower competitions, open to residents, schools, and local businesses.
All are welcome to attend this free event. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just enjoy a splash of summer colour, now’s the perfect time to get involved and to help Felixstowe bloom.
