Today, Thursday 2 July, Felixstowe is proud to join towns and communities across the UK in celebrating UK Town of Culture Postcard Day.
As part of the UK Town of Culture initiative, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is showcasing digital postcards from towns across the country, celebrating the unique culture, creativity and community spirit that makes each place special.
Felixstowe’s postcard represents far more than a single image. It celebrates the incredible partnership that came together to support the town’s UK Town of Culture bid. The bid was shaped by the passion, ideas and commitment of local residents, community groups, charities, schools, arts and cultural organisations, sports clubs, businesses and many other partners who shared a vision for Felixstowe’s future.
Felixstowe Town Council would like to thank everyone who contributed their time, enthusiasm and expertise throughout the bid process. Your support showcased the very best of our town and demonstrated the strength, creativity and pride that exists across our community.
