Work has begun on routine R&M work to coastal assets on the Central & South Fx frontages. This work will mainly be general maintenance to seawalls and promenade coping stones, with minimal disruption anticipated. Access along the promenade may however be affected at times where necessary eg during movement of vehicles or equipment involved in the work. The Contractor will ensure public safety is managed appropriately and best possible access along the promenade is maintained.
A small temporary site compound has been established just south of the amusement pier. It is sited clear of the promenade and approval has been obtained.
Subject to progress & weather conditions, it is hoped that some improvement work to the concrete groynes on the south side of the pier will also be possible.
Please accept apologies for the late notice of these works.
Please note further information from the Coastal Officer, Suffolk Coastal District Council: Please note in order to make best use of spring low tide timings there will be some later than normal work carried out during wc 23rd November. As indicated previously, the work is relatively minor and disturbance is expected to be minimal. We trust this information is helpful.
