Work to renovate the Felixstowe Town Hall windows is now complete. Scaffolding that was in place to facilitate the works was removed on 3 April 2023. The completed renovation work is pictured below:

With Council’s Climate Emergency Declaration in mind, a newly developed type of glass, Fineo Glass, was selected as the material for use in renovation work. Fineo glass is a vacuum-insulated double-glazed unit, and has the lowest thermal transmittance of 0.7 w/m2.k. The glass was chosen to offer optimal insulation properties, whilst respecting the heritage and outer appearance of Felixstowe’s historic Town Hall, which is located in a conservation area. The wooden frames of the windows have also been refurbished, depending on their existing condition, and repainted.
Access to the Town Hall, which was temporarily disrupted, is now available as previously. Those wishing to book a wedding or civil partnership at Felixstowe Town Hall should also be advised that the scaffolding has now been removed. No further work is planned.
