Suffolk Highways will be carrying out improvement works along Candlet Road bridge and along Gulpher Road, Felixstowe. The works are necessary following an assessment to the bridge showing that a vehicle restraint system in both verges is required (on both Candlet and Gulpher Road). The works will also involve resurfacing.
The works are currently programmed to commence on Tuesday 30th May 2017 and will continue until 17th July 2017. The times and dates of works may change depending on the weather conditions. If they do change, we will let you know by updating the information signs on site.
Traffic will be managed by temporary traffic signals for the duration of the works. Candlet Road will be closed as detailed below from Junction 59 roundabout (candlet Road/Port of Felixstowe Road) to the roundabout with Candlet Road, Grove Road and Garrison Lane. This is necessary to complete essential repair works.
Phase 1 – Friday 7th July 2017 from 8pm through to 6am on Monday 10th July 2017
Phase 2 – Friday 14th July 2017 from 8pm through to 6am on Monday 17th July 2017
During the period of the closure, traffic will be diverted via Port of Felixstowe Road (A14), Walton Avenue (A154), Langer Road (A154), Garrison Lane (A154) and vice versa.
These temporary traffic management measures are required to allow the works to be carried out safely and in accordance with current Health and Safety guidelines.
