Scaffolding has been erected at Felixstowe Town Hall and will be in place for approximately three weeks while the upper front elevation of the Town Hall re-pointed. Due to the harsh effects from facing the sea, the interior rooms on the first floor of the Town Hall have suffered damage caused by damp, and will be treated and repaired on the inside and outside of the building.
At times, this may impact the accessibility of the Town Hall via the front entrance through the main doors. However, disabled access through the side-entrance will not be affected by the scaffolding.
It is planned that the scaffolding will be removed prioir to wedding bookings at the end of January. All hirers and wedding couples who have booked a room have already been informed that scaffolding is likely to be in place whilst this work is taking place.
