Suffolk Highways have advised us that they will be making improvements along Hamilton Road and Bent Hill, Felixstowe. The works will involve excavating part of the carriageway and relaying the block paving along with replacing the bike racks. During this time, the hooped ‘no entry’ sign (situated at the top of Bent Hill) will also be replaced.
These improvements are scheduled to begin on Monday 11 March 2019 and will continue for three weeks. Hamilton Road will be closed overnight between Cobbold Road and Hamilton Gardens for the first two weeks of work. Bent Hill will then be closed overnight for the remaining week. The times and dates of works may change depending on the weather conditions. If they do change, they will let residents know by updating the information signs on site.
The roads will be closed, excluding the weekends between 7pm and 5am. Access to properties and businesses will be available at all times. If access is obstructed, please speak to one of their staff who will provide access as soon as it is safe to do so.
During the period of the Hamilton Road closure, traffic will be diverted via Cobbold Road, Ranelagh Road and Hamilton Gardens. During the closure of Bent Hill, traffic will be diverted via Undercliff Road West, Convalescent Hill and Wolsey Gardens.
