The Port of Felixstowe welcomes the opportunity to forge closer links with the local community. Over the years, the Port has worked with local authorities, development agencies, charities, schools and other stakeholder groups on a number of initiatives aimed at building a stronger and more prosperous community, and at developing a real sense of partnership. These have included:
• Port Community Fund
• The Landguard Partnership
• Suffolk Coasts and Heaths
• Felixstowe in Flower
• Cycle Path Development
The Port has also made a number of contributions to improve the amenities of the local area, including the donation of land at Landguard Terminal to the local authority in 1992, for use as a viewing area, and the provision of a further portion of land in 2010 to improve access and parking at what has become a very popular visitor destination in Felixstowe. The area has been further enhanced by the Port with the opening of a new Visitor Centre in 2013. The completion of the Felixstowe South development will provide a larger, enhanced viewing area, and an upgraded Visitor Centre
