Felixstowe Town Council supports the Lions Club of Felixstowe by providing a grant for the Christmas lights every year. The Lions work tirelessly to provide Christmas lights in Felixstowe and arrange a big light up day in the town with music, dancing, stalls, Santa’s grotto and switch on of the lights by the Mayor.
The Lions Club of Felixstowe was chartered in 1978. It’s members wishing to help the less fortunate people within the Felixstowe Area. Their aims were simple:-
- Community Service
- Fund-raising to help the less fortunate within the community and further afield,
- and have fun and fellowship whilst doing it.
The Felixstowe Lions Club has continued to go from strength to strength. And after 32 years the same aims are still holding true.
The club is in Region 4, Zone A of District MD105EA, and is always looking for new members and will offer a warm welcome to all visitors.
