Felixstowe Town Council owns and maintains Allenby Park and Gosford Way Park.
Felixstowe Town Council has taken ownership and is responsible for the maintenance of Allenby Park and Gosford Way Park since September 2022. The dedicated Grounds Team at the Town Council has been actively engaged in enhancing and caring for these parks.
The improvement initiatives began with a focus on the care of trees, shrubs, and borders, and continued with significant enhancements. In March 2023, saplings were planted at Gosford Way Park, followed by the refurbishment of play equipment in both park areas. Subsequently, new paths were installed in both Allenby Park and Gosford Way Park in September 2023.
Gosford Way Park, situated in Old Felixstowe, is accessible from Gosford Way or Ferry Road. This park includes a dedicated children’s play area, a table tennis table, and two five-a-side football goals. Gosford Way Park is accessible to the public at all times.
Allenby Park, named in honor of the Late Edmund Henry Hynman Allenby, was established in 1923 following the demolition of Felixstowe House. The park features an all-weather 5-a-side football pitch, a designated children’s play area, a table tennis table, and a scenic path that winds around the park. It has become a popular spot for families and dog walkers alike. Accessible from Constable Road,
