Sharon has been a Town Councillor for nearly 8 years and was honoured to be elected as Mayor in 2022. A poignant time in our history, Ukraine families arriving here traumatised by the shock of war, the cost-of-living crisis (still a challenge), the aftermath of Covid and months of community isolation and the sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Having worked in community engagement for over 20 years Sharon is passionate about giving local people a voice re where they live – it’s their home! Sharon’s too, living in Felixstowe Town Centre with her two rescue dogs Stanley and Reggie.   Sharon works full time at East Suffolk Council as a Community Safety Officer SZC, mitigating the impacts of this mammoth project on the local community, widening her understanding of community cohesion and wellbeing.

Sharon’s original working background was nursing so is proud to be Chair of Felixstowe Community Hospital League of Friends.  Sharon is also Chair of Felixstowe Museum, Trustee at Landguard Trust and Music in Felixstowe.

At Town Council Sharon is a member of the Civic and Community committee alongside the Assets and Services Committee.
